Misters for Parks in Coachella Valley

Misters for Parks in Coachella Valley

Most people consider Coachella Valley an exclusive retirement get-a-way. We are stock full of famous artists, actors, entrepreneurs and outdoor fanatics who have a long list of fascinating insight and experience. What people often forget is the rising amount of families with young children in the region. Outdoor cooling and  misters have been incorporated into a number of local schools, restaurants and residences yet parks do not have the same rate of adoption.

And we have a lot of really great parks here. But no matter the range of delightful activities, the same time every year brings the piercing heat back to the Valley, shunning our most sensitive residents either indoors or out of the Valley.

An analysis conducted by ABC evaluated the temperatures that park equipment can get in New York during the warmer times of the year. The result? Temperature ranges from 126 degrees Fahrenheit for slides and up to 142 degrees for rubber floor padding. According to paramedics, human skin begins to burn at 124 degree Fahrenheit. And that was New York. With temperatures averaging 100+ degrees child endangerment rises three fold.

But danger and indoor isolation doesn’t have to be there. Koolfog supplies a large amount of the region with misters that allow extended outdoor activities, even during the hottest months. This is the desert, after all. City planners and architects can offer Coachella Valley residents a myriad of benefits simply by integrating misters into some of the most frequented parks.

Many of us here at Koolfog have children. In the summer, you can only swim so often before the allure of the pool subsides. As we drive by the barren parks around our neighborhoods, children’s eyes glisten wanting for the swings and slides that define their afternoons most months of the year. Koolfog misters can extend not only outdoor comfort in residential and commercial locations, but allow our children a calm and cool environment to play all year round. Not to mention the parents that bring them to the parks!
